Our Team

Cynthia F. Sherrill, CPA
CPA & Managing Partner

Grew up in Western Lincoln County, Graduated from West Lincoln High School in 1974, Attended Gaston College for 2 years where she received an Associate Arts Degree in Accounting in 1976 then went on to Belmont Abbey College and Graduated Cum Laude in May of 1981 with a Bachelor Degree in Accounting. She aspired to be a CPA so she sat for the CPA exam and passed it in 1983. She is a member of the NCACPA, AICPA, and serves on the Advisory Board of First Citizens Bank Catawba Area as well as the Charlotte Chapter of Hospice Board. She worked under the direction of Gene Miller for 31 years and made Partner with his firm starting in 1984 until deciding to take the Lincolnton Office, that she managed since making Partner, out as a separate operation in 2010. She currently still lives in Western Lincoln County.

Terri Q. Blake, CPA
CPA & Senior Partner

Lifetime resident of Lincoln County, Terri graduated from West Lincoln High School. In 1982, she graduated from UNC-Charlotte and went to work for Miller Huggins Fox in October of that year. Over the years, Miller Huggins Fox underwent leadership changes and in 1990 Terri became a partner in the firm which is now Sherrill, Blake & Harrison. Terri is an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Crouse, NC and serves as the treasurer for her church and the North Carolina Lutheran Synod. She has served on the board for many non-profit organizations over the last 30 years. Some of those organizations include the Lincoln Arts Council, the Lincoln County Public Education Foundation, the Lincoln County Coalition Against Child Abuse, the Lincoln County Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and the Helping Hands Health Clinic, Inc. Terri is also a board member at Carolina Trust Bank and a member of the Lincolnton/Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce Small Business Council. She received the Small Business Person of the Year award from the Chamber of Commerce in 2009. Terri is married to Ron Blake and has four children, Chris and Brian Blake, Tracy Barger, and Matthew Eurey. Terri and Ron have been blessed with six grandchildren and she enjoys family time with the kids and grandkids.

Dana L. Harrison, CPA
CPA & Partner

Moved to Lincoln County in the early 70's and resided on the Eastern-end of the County. She graduated from Lincolnton High School and went to Florida where she met her husband Jack. They returned to Lincoln County and she continued her education at Belmon Abbey College where she graduated in 1995 with a BA in Accounting. She worked for Coca-Cola Bottling Company in the tax department but she really wanted to work in Lincolnton so she called Miller Sherrill Blake CPA until Cindy and Terri got tired of hearing her call and they setup an interview and hired her in 1996. 15 years later they realized that not only did they get a smart, hard working, dedicated employee but also an entertainer for the firm and they don't know what they would do without her now. Dana and her husband Jack have 2 daughters, Annsley and Jaclyn. She is a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, a regular volunteer at S. Ray Lowder Elementary School and the treasurer of the PTSA at Lincolnton Middle School. She was also named Volunteer of the Year in 2010 for her dedication to volunteering from the Lincoln County School System.

Ginny Ward CPA

Ginny was born in Upstate New York and her family moved to Lincoln County when she was 4 yrs old. She grew up in Lincoln County. She graduated from East Lincoln High School. She continued her education at Appalachian State University and graduated in Dec 1987. In November 1987, Ginny sat for the CPA exam and then joined Miller Sherrill Blake CPA while finishing her last month of college. Ginny attends Lebanon UMC, where she is very active and has served as the treasurer since 1988. She and her husband, Lamar, have three children, Kyle, John and Hannah. She enjoys spending time kayaking and biking with her family.

Anna C. Shields CPA
CPA & Master of Organization

Born and raised in Lincoln County, Anna Caroline Cook Shields graduated from East Lincoln High School in 2004. She continued her education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where, in 2008, she graduated from the Business Honors Program with degrees in Accounting and Finance. In 2011 Anna earned her Certified Public Accountant certificate and in 2012 she completed her Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting also from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Anna is a member of the AICPA and the NCACPA. From 2008 until 2011 Anna worked as a tax accountant with regional pubic accounting firm Cherry Bekaert, LLP in Charlotte. However, always a resident of Lincoln county, Anna wanted to contribute back to her local community and was blessed with the opportunity to join Sherrill, Blake & Harrison CPA PA in 2011. Anna and her husband Jeremy Shields live in Vale with their critters. Anna enjoys being with family and spending time outside with their Australian Shepherds, trail riding on their horses, and playing with her miniature donkey, Rufus.

Brooke Sherrill
Marketing Director &
Accounts Receivable

Born and raised in Lincoln County, she graduated from Lincolnton High School and then went on to attend The College of Charleston where she graduated with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. She started work with the firm part-time while in high-school and came to work full-time after college. What was supposed to be a temporary position, 6 years later she has taken over the Marketing, Accounts Receivable and the Technology roles of the firm. She is a member of the Lincolnton Rotary Club. Outside of work she enjoys remodeling houses and traveling.

Donata Summey
Billing and Positive
Attitude Facilitation

Born and raised in Lincoln County she still resides here with her husband, Lum. She graduated from West Lincoln High School, worked at First Federal while in school then later went to work for Carolina Freight. She dedicated 25 years to the company starting out in customer service and then moving up to Administrative Assistant to the VP of the Northern Division until Carolina Freight was sold. She then went to work for Phoenix Computer Services for a number of years before joining our firm in 2005. She is a member of Boger City Baptist Church and she would say her greatest accomplishment in life was raising her two boys, Brad and Chad Boyles. In her spare time she enjoys playing with her 5 grandchildren and working in her yard. She has a great attitude about life that she shares with all of us at work but she is best known for loving the color purple.

Kim Baker
Director of Information Collection

She graduated from West Lincoln High School and then furthered her education at Sacred Heart College, where she also graduated with a degree in Social Work. She came to work at SBH in 1987 to answer the phone for only one day as a fill-in and 30 plus years later here she still is. One might not think the Social Work degree works with the accounting profession but as the front desk staff she gets to be the first ear and face everyone sees or gets to bend so she has certainly put her degree to good use as she deals with all types of people every day. She is married to Mike Baker and in their free time they enjoy traveling and going to antique shows.

Virginia Costner
Payroll Queen and Accountant

Comes to us from the deep south of Buenos Aires, Argentina. She came to the States to the big Apple in the 70’s. She graduated from LHS in 1981. Virginia met her husband while cruising the big town of Lincolnton. Chuck is a graduate of WLHS class of 1980. His family ran the Coca-Cola Bottling Co in Lincolnton, he currently works for the US Postal Service. They got married in 1983 and have two boys. she is very proud of her two boys: Charley graduated from Western Carolina University in 2015, Chase will be graduating Appalachian State University in December of 2018. She worked at Blue Bell Wrangler Distribution prior to getting married at North State Insurance until coming to Miller, Johnson & Sherrill in 1988. She went back to school in 2007 to take one class and Graduated from Gaston College in May of 2011 with an Associated degree in Accounting. Her position at Sherrill Blake & Harrison CPA is very versatile. I process payroll, process payroll reports and year end W-2’s and 1099’s, handle tax notices for clients, payroll issues, prepare tax returns, order supplies and change the trash and clean toilets if needed.She is a member of Messiah UMC and coordinates children’s activities since early 90’s. In her spare time she loves to be outdoors, hiking, kayaking, swimming or doing yoga and most importantly spending time with her family.

Sheryl Long

Grew up in Gastonia and moved to Lincoln County in 2003. She graduated from Hunter Huss High School in 1977. In 1980 she received an Associate Arts Degree in Liberal Arts from Gaston College and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Belmont Abbey College in 1982. Sheryl is a member of Covenant Bible Church where she serves on the hospitality committee, the media team, and with the ministry to the homeless. She and her husband, Jeff, have three children, Tayler, Cameron, and Abbey. She enjoys spending time with her family, especially going out in Tayler’s boat on Lake Norman. Her other enjoyment comes from spending time in God’s creation by way of camping, short hikes on the various mountains of North Carolina, and walking on the local trails in Lincolnton.

Alicia High

Alicia is a native of Lincoln County and adores our home town. In 2007, she graduated from Belmont Abbey College with a major in business management and a minor in accounting. Soon after graduating, she married her high school sweetheart, Lance, and began her career as an office administrator, working 10 years for John L. Cloninger, III, DDS. After her second son, Beau, was born, she and her husband decided it was in her family’s best interest for her to work part time to allow more time to be spent with the new baby and his older brother, Jake. As her boys are growing older, she is finding it easier to dedicate more time to her profession. She feels very fortunate to have joined the Sherrill, Blake and Harrison CPA firm in 2017, as the work ethic and fellowship within the office is beyond measure and the most valuable asset of this firm. She is blessed to have the opportunity to serve our clients and community.

Anna Long
Administrative Assistant &
A Smiling Face

Born and raised in Dallas, NC, Anna Clemmer Long graduated from North Gaston High School in 2008. She went on to further her education at Gaston College and received an Associates Degree in General Education. She then went on and graduated from Caldwell Community College with her Associates Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography May of 2016. Once she finished her schooling she then married her husband Tayler Long September of 2016. They are expecting there first child in March of 2019. She is a member of her church Venture in Dallas. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and loving on there French Bulldog Nicki.
