Our Team

Dana L. Harrison, CPA
CPA & Owner

Originally from Florida, Dana moved to eastern Lincoln County in the early 70’s. She graduated from Lincolnton High School and went back to Florida. Later she returned to Lincoln County with her husband, Jack. She then went on to get her BA in Accounting from Belmont Abbey in 1995. While working in the tax department for Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Charlotte she decided she really wanted to work in Lincolnton so Dana called Cindy until she was tired of her calling and gave into an interview –she was hired! Not only did we get a smart, hard working, dedicated employee but also our firm’s entertainment! Dana made partner in 2010. Dana and Jack have 2 daughters, Annsley who is in college at the University of Alabama and Jaclyn who is a freshman at Lincolnton High School. She is a member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hardin, NC – where she serves on several committees. Dana also enjoys watching football and sitting in the sunshine with sandy toes and warm water.

Kim Baker
Director of Information Collection

She graduated from West Lincoln High School and then furthered her education at Sacred Heart College, where she also graduated with a degree in Social Work. She came to work at SBH in 1987 to answer the phone for only one day as a fill-in and 32 plus years later here she still is. One might not think the Social Work degree works with the accounting profession but as the front desk staff she gets to be the first ear and face everyone sees or gets to bend so she has certainly put her degree to good use as she deals with all types of people every day. She is married to Mike Baker and in their free time they enjoy traveling and going to antique shows.

Virginia Costner
Payroll Queen and Accountant

Virginia graduated from LHS in 1981. She met her husband while cruising L-town. Chuck is a graduate of WLHS class of 1980. His family ran the Coca-Cola Bottling Co in Lincolnton, he currently works for the US Postal Service. They got married in 1983 and have two boys: Charley graduated from WCU in 2015 and works in Charlotte, Chase graduated from ASU in 2018 and lives in NYC. Her boys are one of her biggest joys. After graduating high school, she worked Blue Bell Wrangler Distribution prior to getting married and at North State Insurance until coming to Miller, Johnson & Sherrill. She went back to school in 2007 to take one class and Graduated from Gaston College in May of 2011 with an Associate degree in Accounting. In 2020 she celebrates her 32nd year at Sherrill Blake & Harrison CPA. Her job is very versatile, some of her duties are to process payroll, process payroll reports and year end W-2’s and 1099’s, handle tax notices for clients, payroll issues, work comp audits and preparing tax returns. Other duties are to order supplies and change the trash and making sure the office is clean. She is a member of Messiah UMC and coordinates children’s activities and missions with the younger families since early 90’s. In her spare time, she and Chuck love the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, cycling swimming or doing yoga and most important is pending time with her family and taking as many vacations as time allows.
